The First paragraph in- creative writing
How important is it?
The first paragraph can set the tone of a story.
It can provide the reader an idea of what the journey through the book will be like. Some books have started out slow but as you continue to read the pace picks up.
Others start off in a rapid pace taking you on what feels like a roller coaster ride through the story, and you have no time to catch your breath.
I prefer to coast through the story a little and let the reader get comfortable, to throw them into a faster pace. Then slow it down again and add twists until you reach the ending. I love twists
Every writer decides to take you on the journey through the story either slow or fast or just a steady pace.
Which would you prefer?
