Are Refunds Fair To The Writer?

Are refunds fair to the writer?  The topic in this post is a common question among us writers.  As a writer, we work very hard putting an interesting story together and should our hard work be dismissed in an instant if a reader doesn't like the story?

Now, I understand if a reader doesn't care for the story and  they  want their money back but many times they have kept the book for a week which is plenty of time to read it or share it then want their money back.

I don't have a problem returning their money but perhaps not the entire amount. The writer receives nothing for their writing when money is returned.

Amazon lets the customer have it for 7 days then will return their money and the writer gets nothing!

At least the reader could leave a comment or review about the book.

State why they didn't like it.

So....any thoughts????
